    Potential Spaying Risks

    Spaying risks vary by the age at which surgery is carried out, as well as by breed of dog, and can include:

    • Urinary incontinence

    • Obesity

    • Cruciate ligament rupture

    • Other joint disease

    • Various cancers (esp.

      Rottweilers + osteosarcoma)

    • Autoimmune disease

    Over the last few years we have started to understand that there are other downsides to being spayed than traditionally thought.

    We all love to making generalizations and the temptation is that when some new research is published we apply the new findings to every single dog.
